How Gamefinder Works

How Gamefinder Works

Gamefinder is a live listing board for board game tables. Organizers post games that need players, and signed-in players claim available seats.

For players

  1. Create an account or sign in. You must be 18 or over, or have parental approval, before signing up.
  2. Open Available Games.
  3. Filter by venue, future games, open seats, or games in progress.
  4. Open a game and claim a seat.
  5. Opt into notifications if you want reminders and game updates.

For organizers

  1. Sign in and open Look for Players.
  2. Choose or enter the location, room, table, game, start time, seat count, and play time.
  3. Choose whether to receive notifications for seat claims, released seats, and player messages.
  4. Publish the game so players can find it.
  5. Use Manage controls to update the game, start it, cancel it, finish it, assign seats, record winners, or moderate comments.

Account review

New accounts are approved automatically. Admins can review recent new accounts and deactivate or remove accounts from the WordPress admin area.

Game status

Games can be pending, playing, cancelled, or finished. Finished games are hidden from the current games view. Games in progress can be shown with the Games in progress filter.

Notifications and reminders

Gamefinder can queue browser or email notifications for seat activity, messages, cancelled games, and start reminders. Browser push notifications depend on your device and browser permission settings.
